"Software that is actually yours" only means something if you can check it. So here is the honest picture of what Cranix does and does not do with your data.
There are no advertising networks, no third-party analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, no session recorders, and nothing that sells or shares your data. The site talks to Cranix's own services and nothing else.
The only measurement is a single, cookieless page-view count. No cookies are set, no fingerprint is built, and nothing follows you between sites. A visit is recorded as a one-way hash that cannot be traced back to you, used only to see roughly how many people stopped by.
Open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and reload any page. Every request goes to Cranix or your own browser cache — no ad domains, no trackers. The site also ships a strict Content-Security-Policy that blocks inline scripts, so injected third-party junk cannot run.
Your account holds the basics needed to run it — username, email, a securely hashed password, your settings, and your sessions and devices — plus whatever you choose to sync from each app. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy, and you can export or delete all of it from your account page.
Right now it does not — it is free. The plan is a cosmetic-only membership called Cranix+: themes, effects, badges, that sort of thing. It will never paywall a feature, a limit, your storage, or how well anything works. If a change would make the free apps worse, it does not ship. More on the thinking on Why Cranix.
